Presentation: "Evolving the Key/Value Programming Model to a Higher Level"
Track:
Web-Oriented Data
Time: Monday 11:30 - 12:30
Location: Filuren
Abstract: Redis was an interesting evolution of key/value style programming when it included lists and sets in a first class way. However, this is not enough and I'll show a redis++ api running on top of WebSphere eXtreme Scale, IBMs in memory data grid product. This enhancement provides the elastically scalable persistent store for a truly scalable twitter application unlike the original Retwis application built on Redis. The talk will highlight the original Redis APIs, what's cool, what's not so cool and how we evolved it to produce a truly scalable application.
