Klaus Marius Hansen obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the
University of Aarhus in 2002 based on an exposition of object-oriented
modelling in experimental system development.
In August 2000, he co-founded Ideogramic ApS, a startup working with
novel and intuitive interaction techniques for diagramming and
modelling. Ideogramic's products include "Ideogramic UML", the first
gesture-based UML tool for electronic whiteboards. He is currently an Assistant Professor at University of Aarhus and
Director of Research and Development at Ideogramic ApS.

Object-Oriented Modelling in Agile
Software Development
Monday 15:30 - 16:15 (Tools Room)
A major strength of object-oriented system development is its direct
support for domain modelling provided by its underlying conceptual
framework: models may in this way provide a specification for a system
and at the same time be expressed by concepts from the programming
language used. Contrary to the specification- and document-centric nature of many
modelling approaches, agile software development advocates lightweight
and flexible development through a focus on, e.g., "individuals and
interactions over processes and tools" and "working software over
comprehensive documentation". We explore how object-oriented modelling and agile software development
can be reconciled by the use of agile modelling techniques and tools
with a particular focus on the Unified Modeling Language, Extreme
Programming, and the Crystal Methodologies.
