Cross Server Tools
Monday 11:00 - 12:00 (Tools Room)
Recent specifications within the J2EE scope make vendor neutral tools possible. The J2EE Management Specification defines standard ways to manage J2EE Application Servers and the J2EE Application Deployment Specification defines how J2EE Applications and modules can be configured and deployed using a standard API. Finally the "Debugging Support for Other Languages Specification" enables vendor neutral debugging of non-Java source files, for example JSPs. This presentation aims to give an introduction to these standards, what problems they can help solve and what this means to developers. A demonstration of key features, using different application servers, will also be given.
