Presentation: "LEGO Develops a new robotics platform WeDo"

Abstract: It will be discussed how LEGO develops some of the most innovative toys, such as LEGO MINDSTORMS and how a development process is managed with partners from Europe, USA and Asia and the online community all at once. LEGO continues to develop the LEGO Robotics category from elementary school through college and university. Through the WeDo product from LEGO Education we give a seven year old the power to do event based parallel programming, easier and faster then what you managed in college!

Eik Thyrsted Brandsgård, LEGO

Eik Thyrsted Brandsgård Eik Thyrsted Brandsgård is a software producer for Robotics Software at the LEGO Company. He is currently leading the on going development of the MINDSTORMS NXT Software, part of LEGO's robotics continuum that also includes the recently announced WeDo robotics platform. During Eik?s years at LEGO he has also been project manager on new business projects such as LEGO Digital Designer and LEGO Factory. The LEGO Robotics Software Group aims to expand the robotics platform to all ages, combining play and learning with toys, science and technology. Prior to joining the LEGO group Eik studied Humanistic Informatics at the University of Aalborg followed by a position as project manager at Zenaria, developing customized e-learning solutions for a number of large danish and international organizations.
