Presentation: "Building Rich Internet Applications for the Browser and the Desktop with Flex and AIR"

Track:   Web 2.0

Time: Tuesday 11:00 - 12:00

Location: SAS Suecia

Abstract:

For the last 2+ years, the industry has shifted its attention to the client and the quality of the user interface. The incremental improvements that we are witnessing today are just first steps on a path towards "high definition" user interfaces: real time data, in-context collaboration, vector graphics-powered expressiveness, rich media integration, and offline capabilities will soon be standard attributes of most web applications.

In this session, Christophe Coenraets will provide a technical introduction to Flex, a complete solution for building this new breed of applications . He will demonstrate how, combined with AIR (the new Adobe Integrated Runtime), these applications can run in the B rowser or on the Desktop, online or offline . Christophe will provide an in-depth overview of the Flex programming model and demonstrate the integration with other client technologies and existing Web frameworks.
