Presentation: "Rails Performance"

Track: Railing

Time: Monday 15:40 - 16:30

Location: Musikhuset Nr. 222

Abstract:

The performance of ruby on rails gets a lot of attention both positive and negative, but how does it affect you? Why doesn't the rails team just 'make rails faster'? What steps can you take to improve the performance of your own applications.

This talk will take you through the process of profiling a Rails application. You'll learn about common hot spots and how to detect and optimise them. We'll also cover some common myths and misunderstandings about what's slow in rails, and show how you can contribute to improving the performance of Rails itself.
