Abstract:
This seminar blends theory and practices that have been proven to be
effective in solving real performance problems. The objective to
demonstrate what steps are needed in order to quickly identify and
eliminate performance bottlenecks. It will also help you to understand
and avoid common and often costly mistakes that developers make when
they embark on a tuning exercise. The seminar will cover;
- Elements and dynamics of a software system
- What resource utilization says about your application
- The performance tuning environment
- A simple peformance tuning process
- Tooling
- Java memory management
The hands on portion of the seminar work focuses on performance problems
drawn from real world experiences. The hands on work is open ended and
highly interactive allowing for the opportunity for us to learn from
each other. This means that you should bring your own laptop to get the full benefit of the tutorial.
