Presentation: "JCR in the Real World"

Time: Tuesday 16:55 - 17:55

Location: SAS Nortvegia

Abstract:

The Java Content Repository specification covers a set of advanced storage services which are nowadays required in most of the real world apps, where these are not only meant for data management, but offer features like heterogeneous data type storage, versioning, full-text indexing, fine grained access control, event notification and monitoring.

The JCR API allows application developers to focus only on the specific requirements and not bother to develop in-house or use specific vendor solutions to gain access to these features.

The audience will be introduced to the existing frameworks meant to ease the app development, and to a couple of the existing accompanying tools (while also mentioning the missing ones).

By the end of the session we will also get a snick preview of the upcoming version 2.0 of the spec.
