Aaron Mulder, Chariot Solutions

 Aaron  Mulder

Aaron Mulder has been working with Java technology since Java Alpha. He has worked on applets, applications, and Web applications using Java, CORBA, and J2EE. He has contributed to the Apache Geronimo, JBoss, and OpenEJB open-source J2EE servers, as well as the JDBC drivers for the PostgreSQL database. He co-authored the book Professional EJB, and is the author of the WebLogic 7 Deployment and Administration Handbook and an upcoming book on Apache Geronimo.

Mulder is also a member of the JSR-88 (J2EE Application Deployment API) expert group. He has presented on a variety of Java-related topics in forums such as Java Users Group meetings, seminars, and the 2001 through 2005 JavaOne conferences. He is currently the Chief Technical Officer of Chariot Solutions, a Java consulting company.

Abstract: This session introduces Apache Geronimo from the perspective of a J2EE developer. Do you have experience developing J2EE applications, but no idea how to get started with Geronimo? Or perhaps wondering about how Geronimo compares to Tomcat or other app servers? We'll cover the Geronimo server's features, installation and management, deployment plan syntax, included tools, admin console, debugging options, and more. Specific development topics include configuring and deploying web applications, database connection pools, security realms, EJBs and CMP, and JMS connections and destinations.
