Jim des Rivieres, IBM

Jim des Rivieres is one of the architects of the Jazz and Eclipse platforms, with a special focus on the overall design of their APIs. Over the years, Jim has been a key architect and API designer for several IDEs, including IBM VisualAge/Smalltalk, and IBM VisualAge Micro Edition. Prior to joining OTI (Object Technology International) in 1993, Jim was at Xerox PARC where he co-authored the influential book "The Art of the Metaobject Protocol" and several papers on computational reflection.
