Andrew Scotland, BBC

/alltime/images/speakers/andrew_scotland.jpg Andrew Scotland is Head of Development within the BBC's New Media Division. The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is one of the world's largest public service broadcasters. His teams are responsible for much of bbc.co.uk's core internet infrastructure products and services as well as the development of the BBC's interactive TV services. He is a certified SCRUM master and has successfully introduced SCRUM practice into the New Media division's multidisciplinary development teams (Software Engineering, User Experience, Information Architecture, Editorial, Product Management and Project Management). Andrew is particularly interested in the change management challenges encountered when introducing self organised approaches into teams particularly where the disciplines involved have differing approaches to the work they perform. He has also had to adapt to the need of a large public service company to provide a high degree of governance and accountability. Prior to working at the BBC Andrew has lead software development teams in a mixture of publishing, media and technology companies.
