Mandy Chung, Sun Microsystems
Mandy Chung is a senior staff engineer at Sun Microsystems leading the
project of monitoring and management for the Java virtual machine. She
led the design and the implementation of java.lang.management API and the
JConsole monitoring tool. She holds a M.S.in Computer Science from the
University of California, Davis.

Abstract: Java SE 5 provides a comprehensive monitoring and management support. It includes significant instrumentation in the Java virtual machine. The new java.lang.management API defines a set of management interfaces that provides local and remote access to the information on the memory management system, threads and class loading activities, runtime information as well as the underlying operation system. In this talk, we will present the new JVM monitoring and management support and also introduce the new monitoring utility, JConsole, for you to use out-of-the-box.
