Edward Jezierski, Microsoft
Edward is an architect in the patterns and practices group in Microsoft. He has been building domain-specific frameworks (lovingly called "Application Blocks"), tools, patterns and design guidance in source code form, wikis, tool extensions, and whatever formats make sense to help customers build better systems with less effort. I have personally worked on a myriad fun things including learning systems, genetic algorithms, computing applied to anthropology, business intelligence, middleware, framework design, and capturing and reusing knowledge. Lately I find myself pondering on the social nature of building software, and on approaches that could enable us to build systems (code, biological, physical) beyond what we can 'engineer' or envision building with current techniques.
