Presentation: "The Role of DSLs in Software Factories"

Track:   Domain Specific Languages, and Beyond

Time: Tuesday 16:00 - 16:45

Location: SAS Dania

Abstract: Software Factories offer an increasingly pervasive method for acquiring, encapsulating and deploying the best practices, guidance, and tools for developing a family of applications into a software development shop. An important aspect of a software factory is the set of domain-specific languages (DSLs) used to capture models and metadata about particular aspects of the development, and to generate code and other artifacts from these models and metadata. This talk will illustrate how DSLs are used in practical software factories, and demonstrate how to implement DSLs using the DSL Tools within the Microsoft Visual Studio SDK.
