Presentation: "AJAX The white tornado?"

Track:   Emerging Web Technologies

Time: Monday 10:15 - 10:45

Location: SAS Dania

Abstract: A major feature of the Web 2.0 technologies is Ajax, which has found wide spread adoption and implementation. In February 2006 the OpenAjax consortium has started an attempt of coordinating some of the industry's many initiatives, providing an Eclipse based toolkit. This session will take the audience through the short history of Ajax, current state of Ajax and how businesses can take advantage of this technology. It will also highlight potential consequences from implementation point of view and potential problem areas to watch out. The jStart team has undertaken a number of projects with enterprise customers worldwide and we will share some of the experience from these projects. We will also show a sample application that demonstrates those capabilities of Ajax that might be applicable to an enterprise environment.
