Presentation: "Applications in a Virtual Infrastructure"

Track:   Solution Track I

Time: Monday 16:00 - 16:45

Location: Café Scene, Exhibition Hall

Abstract: Virtual machines (in the VMware sense) are a complete and highly scalable software encapsulation of a physical x86 server. Virtual machines can be better than physical machines because of simpler provisioning, better availability, better scalability and better use of resources. Virtual machines also enable a more flexible and dynamic operational model. In this talk, we will discuss how virtual machines impact the way applications can be built and managed as well as how we can build virtualization aware applications.
