Presentation: "Turbocharging Development with MDA - Real Life Examples in IBM"

Track:   MDA

Time: Tuesday 17:00 - 17:45

Location: ARoS Auditoriet

Abstract:

Model Driven Software Development has been positioned as promising radical improvements in Development Productivity, Software Quality, and a narrowing of the "Business/IT Gap".

But how much is hype and how much is real? This session will present the results of early experience in applying best of breed techniques to real life situations. These show that the possibilities are surprisingly real. The key techniques used to achieve these results have included using MetaTooling technology to fuse together a Patterns Based Design approach with a Model Driven Software Generation approach.

The objectives of the session are to:

1) Position the recent development of 'MetaTooling' and how it overcomes classical limitations of previous approaches in these areas

2) Show how it can be used to combine the knowledge encapsulation capability of 'Patterns' with the automation capability of 'Model Driven Software Development'

3) Demonstrate real life examples of how new levels of productivity and quality are being achieved today
