Jan Pries-Heje, IT University of Copenhagen

 Jan  Pries-Heje Jan Pries-Heje holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. He is now Associate Professor at the IT University of Copenhagen. He is also (part-time) Professor in Software Engineering and Management at the IT-university of Gothenburg. Jan Pries-Heje is certified ISO 9000 auditor and BOOTSTRAP assessor, and has been project manager for a number of IT and Software Process Improvement projects. He worked as a Consultant 1997-2000. In this period he also did an extensive study of project estimation in Denmark for the Danish Software Engineering Forum. His research interests include information systems development, software engineering, and software process improvement. He focuses on organizational and managerial issues. Jan has published more than 100 papers and chapters in these areas in journals and conferences.

Abstract: Estimation has always caused problems in projects. How can you actually foresee the future with any precision? However, some companies actually succeed in estimating OO projects with good precision. Based on empirical studies in Danish Companies Jan Pries-Heje will present two ways of estimation your OO project, Use Case points and the successive principle (often called three-point estimation).
