Time: Wednesday 15:45 - 16:30 Location: Conference Hall 1
Abstract: In this presentation, Chris will share his thoughts on how he envisages Web services will evolve over time:
From a predominantly API-centric model to a more message oriented model that lies at the heart of the Service Oriented Architecture; from standalone services to collaborative service aggregations. He will discuss the key motivating factors for this envisaged evolution such as loosely coupled versioning, interoperability, and extensibility. Additionally, he will share his thoughts on the increased role that scripting languages such as Perl and Python will likely play in this future. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of some of the key challenges that need to be addressed in order to realize this future vision.
