Jimmy Nilsson is the owner of the Swedish consulting company JNSK AB. He has been working with system development for more than fifteen years. Jimmy has written numerous technical articles and is the author of ".NET Enterprise Design with Visual Basic .NET and SQL Server 2000." TestimonialSummer is coming to Sweden any day now I hope. Heck, we celebrated midsommar (midsummer) yesterday and it rained and it was cold. Even though we Swedish guys love and long for our short but most often wonderful summers, there is actually one thing that's already making me long for the autumn. Namely the JAOO conference in Århus in Denmark in September. :-) The speakers are Martin Fowler, Anders Hejlsberg, Frank Buschmann, and many others. I will be giving two presentations and hope to see you there! |

In this session we will discuss data access best practices both from a broad spectrum, but also with a focus on nitty gritty details. The best practices will balance performance and maintenance. We will for example discuss transaction design, parameterization, batching, and loads of other things. In this presentation we will discuss the requirements and implementation of a framework called Valhalla that is designed to support the Domain Model pattern in general and Domain-Driven Design in particular. The focus will be on the persistence perspective of the framework. We will discuss how we lessen the number of roundtrips, avoiding common bottlenecks in regards to key generation, the built in customizability, and many other aspects.
