Abstract: The Ministry of Internal Affairs (Indenrigsministeriet) has asked the regions (amterne) to establish Electronic Health Care Record (EHCR) in 2007. Hovedstadens Sygehusfællesskab (H:S) og Københavns Amt have joined forces to get the actual 'engine' in EHCR - called the Clinical Process. That has opened up for cooperation in defining a common reference architecture. The reference architecture should among other things handle the chosen strategy using many different suppliers - meaning that different contractors will be delivering EHCR modules - and that H:S and Københavns Amt will be using their own persistence platform. Clinical Process should - just as several other common components and an existing module - be developed at the J2EE platform, but also be integrated with several older systems on other platforms.
