Discuss the problem of object persistence and why and when to use
automated object/relational mapping (ORM). Introduce the basic mapping
problems and mention some standard solutions. Discuss the concepts that
make Hibernate different from other solutions and show some simple
examples of Hibernate code, emphasising these concepts. Briefly describe
some possible persistence architectures, finally emphasizing the
combination of ORM, the DAO pattern and Inversion of Control.
